Good Society: A Jane Austen RPG Update

A couple of years ago, I wrote about Good Society, a Jane Austen RPG that was on Kickstarter.

Looks like the good folks over at Storybrewers have a new pre-order available of the complete set, expansion packs, plus a lot of other goodies.

The pre-order includes:

  • Good Society Hardcover
  • Good Society Base Deck
  • Expanded Acquaintance Hardcover
  • Service and Ambition Deck
  • Swords and Magic Deck
  • Love & Longing Deck
  • Good Society PDF
  • All Expansion PDFs

The cost is $150 AUS with a $15 AUS flat shipping to the US. The complete package is set to be released in October 2021.

Adagio’s Pride and Prejudice Teas

Teas inspired by Jane Austen are not a new thing. There already exists a few companies who have their own Austen inspired blends but Adagio teas goes one step further by having a tea range dedicated to Pride and Prejudice.

Blended by Jessie McNiel, the Pride and Prejudice collection comes in the following blends:

(The illustration are clearly inspired by the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice. I approve.)

The tea comes in three sizes:

  • Sample tins
  • 3oz pouch
  • 5oz tin

Adagio also have a heavy selection of other signature blends representing other fandoms and characters.

If you do give these a try, let us know!

Two New Versions of Persuasion Coming Soon

Wow, it’s a movie extravaganza lately!

It was announced last week that Dakota Johnson has been announced to play Anne Elliot in a new modern adaptation of Persuasion which will be coming to Netflix. No ETA of release date nor any word on who is playing Captain Wentworth.

I’m not sure if this was a past conscious decision to cast Anne as more of a plain in face character in the past but Johnson is far too attractive to play Anne.

Announced in September 2020, another version of Persuasion is being produced with big movie dreams by the BBC. Sarah Snook is set to play Anne and Joel Fry as Wentworth.

The last time Persuasion was shown on the big or little screen was the Sally Hawkins as Anne in the 2007 production.
